I was pining over a Louise Carmen and a Paper Republic, so I went to hobby lobby, got leather, and made my own. I’ve make 6 journals of alll different sizes so far and the roll of leather I bought was $12.

I’ve been journaling forever and I usually actually just use watercolor paper journals from Michaels, but I’ve been pulled into the Louise Carmen videos. I’m looking for a bigger size journal to keep a day planner and inserts and maybe some watercolor paper inserts. I don’t even know if they make watercolor paper inserts😁Do you have any recommendation on a company that does the large leather portfolio size that I might be able to customize thanks in advance

I love the idea of a Louise Carmen but that price is just ridiculous to me. I got a beautiful real leather stamped croc journal handmade and customized on Etsy for $90 and it’s my favorite thing ever.

I was pinning over a Louis Carmen last year and decided to dip my toe by getting a paper republic instead and it was definitely a waste for me because I just don’t use it. Am I still thinking about the Louis Carmen? Yes 😂🤣

I got my A5 leather trifold on Amazon for $40…… I LOVE it. Real leather and quality. Also, get an Esterbrook or TWSBI if you want a nice fountain pen without the horrible price tag. Esterbrooks can be pricy for the out of stock esties but I CONSTANTLY reach for my Esterbrook avalanche. ❤️❤️

Wow. My vanishing points are ALL perfection. They’re my most reliable pens. Shame - because you got a bad one. And I have heard the exact opposite. Most people LOVE their vanishing point and decimos. Have to disagree 100% with you on the pens.

I’m have the pilot VP in EF. When it works I absolutely adore it. But it never works. It’s always clogged or the ink dries up or whatever. I love it so much and I’m so sad I can never just use it without having to go through a lot of hassle.

I think Luise Carmen is more for people who have been years journaling or are used ti the traveler's journal style. is not for the newbie or the Hobonichi type person!

Totally agree about Louise Carmen. I also feel like Paper Republic is over hyped and pricey. There are so many individuals out there creating beautiful journals for a more reasonable price.

Your vanishing point is my TWISBI Vac. It doesn’t work. Contacted customer service they basically laughed at me. So now I have an unusable $90 pen rotting away taunting me on my desk.
