Louis calling it "sickness" is a GOOD thing. It is sick and Lestat needed someone (specifically Louis tbh) to acknowledge that so he could do so as well. Louis asking what excuse Lestat has for it is needed, because Lestat needs to realize that he, in fact, doesn't have any - because it just can't be excused. Lestat makes excuses for the things that happen to him constantly, he had to realize that they don't hold any water. Did Louis handle that perfectly? No, but how tf do you handle a revelation like that about someone you love well? The moment he realized the state Lestat is in, he comforts him. He didn't call Lestat himself sick, he said IT is sickness - and it is. The disgust is directed at the act itself and the disgust is what Lestat definitely feels too, in a way, and it being validated from the outside perspective and redirected from him to his abuse is actually important.
