@kendraworth: Tantrums can feel like the most difficult part of parenting, but once you know the steps for de-escalating and managing them using co-regulation, they’re actually pretty quick & easy! My 1.5 YO and 3.5 YO tantrum regularly, but their tantrums last under 5 minutes and each time they happen, I feel like we make a lot of progress when it comes to accepting boundaries and learning how to emotionally regulate. Most importantly, I love that this approach deepens our relationship and trust every time instead of undermining it 💗 Head to the 🔗 in my bio or hhsleep.com to download my Taming Tantrums Mini Guide that will teach you exactly how to manage and de-escalate your child’s tantrum in 10 simple steps ✨ it’s just $5! Once you have the tools, you won’t be afraid of your little one reacting to your boundaries with tantrums, because they’ll be over so fast #momsofig #tantrums #toddler #creatorsearchinsights #toddlermom Calm response for toddler tantrum Moms helping moms Gentle parenting example Gentle discipline that actually works What to say during meltdowns How to handle a toddler’s tantrums

THIS is gentle parenting. This is Conscious Discipline. You held a boundary. You coregulated. You reiterated the boundary. Well done!! Gentle parenting is not permissive parenting. Permissive parenting would have let her have the movie time. Gentle parenting is teaching her how to calm herself and hold her emotions even when she doesn’t get what she wants. Gentle parenting is keeping yourself calm so you respond consciously instead of reactively, with patience instead of verbal or physical harm.

i see all the work it takes to parent a child this young and j get so frustrated that it is such a privilege now to even be able to do this full time until they get to daycare. not to downplay how hard it must be for you but i wish all parents were allowed to actually be present with their kids instead of not being given paid paternity/maternity leave and having to outsource this work to someone else entirely.

As a therapist. I love this. I wish my parents would have taught me this. I’m 46 and still learning to regulate. Excellent job! 🫶🏽

I have such a hard time doing this with my toddler when my (clingy) 11 month old doesn’t always allow me the time to do this when my toddler needs it. Any tips!?

Girl! I had great parents, a teacher and a psychologist- and still, this makes me cry. So many people don’t understand how to manage tantrums. You’re doing it sooo beautifully

Excellent example! This mama understands the value of role modeling. Our kids are always looking to their parents for guidance when they are this young. Well done, Mama!

Any advice for tantrums triggered by separation anxiety? If I stay, I’m giving in, but if I go anyway, I’m rejecting/abandoning, right?

What if when we reinforce the boundary they start the tantrum all over again and it becomes a cycle?

My little girl is 14 months did you have any problems with hitting and how did you stop it? Before I would do a stern “no” but I realized she did it more because it was a reaction and she would smile because she thought it was funny. I’ve started showing her gentle after she hits (I started 2 days ago) she was doing good and then hits again ik it’s not an overnight thing but just curious how you fixed/ stopped hitting

Hi! Do you have any recommendations for children who don’t seem to listen/digest instructions? I’m not sure your experience with neurodivergent kiddos but my nanny kiddo is definitely adhd but I’m looking for tips on how to improve listening skills and respect for like what I’m asking. I’ve made it clear and continue to reinforce that when I’m asking things or to stop behavior I’m doing it because I want him to be safe, not because I don’t want him to have fun.
