Only thing I had to buy was expo markers. Everything else we had this year. I grab things when I see them cheap. Pretty sure we have enough notebooks, pens and pencils to last until all my kids graduate. I also donate a bunch of stuff each year.

Girl, I love how grown you are. I approach with kindness always first and then I get aggressive and crazy when I’m ignored or I’m told no for essentials lol but I love how grown you are and that you guys have all come to a good place for bonus girly. You guys are really something to learn from and I hope all y’all watching her videos are listening to how she handled this and how both bio Mom and bonus mom handled the situation. Sometimes it’s easier for bonus mom to talk with bio mom since there may not be past hurt and anger. That’s what happens when the adults decide to adult. 🏆

I use to buy up paper etc when they put that stuff on clearance and kept it all in a tote. I rarely, if ever had to buy anything full price.

If you and the mom get along better this way, it just makes sense for you to communicate with her, especially since it is easier (he’s on a roof 🤣). As for school supplies, I was always one that liked to buy new, but that’s because I love this stuff 🤣 (I still get a paper agenda every year!)

Is she going to take chemistry? If so , most classes require a special calculator. If so, check what they need so you don’t have to rebuy. $50 is a tank of gas.

I always bought extra of everything. Crayons, folders, notebook paper, all the things. When I stopped having to buy them, I donated them to a teacher friend who teaches elementary school.

I think you all have the best approach to it all!!! Less arguing and less drama and complicated situations for the kid involved too! Some co parents will fight over each #2 pencil and that is crazy too me! 💜💜💜

my grandfather has slight holding tendencies but when he use to work and they were throwing something out he would ask if he could take it home. he use to do my back to school shopping with me and if I needed something and he had it he would give it like 3 ring binders. he had so many 3 ring binders. and we wouldn't get the expensive supplies either like the 25c notebooks and i would reuse year to year assuming conditions.
