@mariana: Would you know if it wasn’t really me? Imagine seeing a video of me reporting breaking news about Venezuela, an election, an earthquake or a humanitarian crisis. You recognize my face. You hear my voice. But I never actually said any of it. AI can now replicate our faces, voices and identities in minutes. And when so many of us depend on social media for information, deepfakes threaten more than our identities. They threaten our ability to know what’s real. As a journalist and trust builder, that’s why I did this show, to talk about the problem and the solutions being created by leaders like Anthony De Lima and to help us protect what is uniquely ours.
