Sony isnt doing anything. It’s Studio Canal. Sony is the platform, not the producer. If Studio Canal says to pull the shit, it gets pulled.

While Sony has a choice, that only exists if StudioCanal presents it to them, a little more research would have shown that StudioCanal has been building up their plugins on services like Amazon Prime Video, one could reasonably assume that StudioCanal possibly sees a subscription service as a much more profitable system, over the latent sales that existed through Sonys platform, if no such deal was presented, it would be illegal to continue providing that content
