@the.drillmaster: The air tray is what a casket is transported in. The bottom is wood and looks like it should be on the top. The top fits over the casket and into the bottom tray. Think of a cake plate and the deep cover that goes over it. It's a similar concept. Anyway. The tray can fit tightly against the bottom of the casket. Really tightly. Notice here that the team picks up the casket, there's a bit of hesitation as to if the tray should be grasped or not. 👉 Sometimes the tray stays on. 👉 Sometimes the tray falls off mid-carry. 👉 Sometimes the ground crew pops it off. This is a Dignified Arrival. It is sometimes called Planeside Honors, but the arrival term is more accurate because Dignified Arrival is used when the casket is transferred from the aircraft to the coach.
