OK HEAR ME OUT!!! Mom sounds heartbroken- like a "right of passage" type of thing. her mom taught her to cook and she wanted to teach her daughter how to cook. DEFINITELY a conversation that needed to be had before all this happen.

They now say that kids who learn chores and how be autonomous at an early age go on to be much more successful in life. In my own family I see this at work as the elder "old fashioned parenting" kids are the most successful. While the new "gentle parenting, everythingdone for them" kids are not anywhere as capable or successful. That's all the evidence I need!

I helped my middle child make Mac n cheese ONE time when she was like 3 and now she just randomly starts cooking meals for the family or baking brownies or something for her classmates ALL the time!!
