This is not a "my body, my choice" argument. She is a surrogate, she gave part of her body autonomy away to grow someone else's child. Now this child will live in pain, for however long they have, cause she made a choice that wasn't hers to make.

I can tell from the description that they’re talking about hypoplastic left heart syndrome. 25% don’t make it to the second surgery if they get the first one. The vast majority end up with multiple other complications like strokes and feeding and intellectual disabilities. It is the most suffering I have ever witnessed. No one should be forced to live like this.

everyone in the comments saying she made the right decision clearly has never dealt with someone who actually has HLHS. My brother has it and it’s so complicated, he is constantly in and out of the hospital and depressed from knowing he will not be able to live a full life. What this girl did was selfish, not just on her end but on the child’s end too.

It truly does not matter what ours or the surrogate’s opinions are on whether aborting that fetus was right or wrong. The point is that this woman should not have become a surrogate if she wanted any say over the baby’s medical treatment. The literal definition of surrogacy is that you are carrying somebody else’s child on behalf of them. You should get say if your life is in danger for any reason, but you do not get to dictate what does or does not happen to the baby. It is not your baby.
