Yesterday we went to town and diesel was over $5. Fin asked me, “what’s the line where we just stop filling up the truck?” And I was like… as long as we still gotta go to town, we need gas. So yeah… I’m not even filling it up anymore. Just putting in $20–$30 at a time. And you already know what’s coming next… goods and groceries are gonna go up too. So we’ve been tightening things up a bit. Trying to combine trips instead of running out for one thing… only grabbing what we actually need… stuff like that. And honestly… we’re just not going to town unless we have to. We’re lucky we work from home. I feel for the folks who have to drive every day… that’s not easy right now. To save $$ little things add up too… using gas points and rewards. We’ll grab Tractor Supply gift cards at Kroger to get the extra fuel points since we’re there anyway. Fin’s been pushing the garden more, which helps. And the chickens are doing their job, so at least we’ve got eggs. And I love eggs!! We’re also trying to stock up on things we use all the time before prices jump… not panic buying, just staying a little ahead... You know… picking up a bag of beans here and there. Nothing crazy… just paying more attention right now. Every bit helps.
