story time! I had a caiman crocodile, he was about 5-6'. I worked nights, storm blew my front door open, I didn't have it shut good, alarm call 911, cops came found the door open so they entered. My crocodile was in a 300 gallon aquarium, they opened his door and the crocodile turned and hissed cause he didn't know them, he was completely contained. Scared them so bad they shut his door, then went got my patio furniture to stand on to see through his windows. They called TWRA, I had to let them come see if it was an alligator, he wasn't, but the officer said they had recovered an alligator living in a home with a family walking around free roaming, it was over 8'. 😳

Well back before don’t quote me on this 2010 era they were legal in Oregon I know many people being me included owning a few grants pass OR they used to sell gators in pet store in town.

i know that guy that had the alligator, he was well taken care of, the owner is not a tweaker. the gators name was chi chi. FREE CHI CHI😭😭😭

I know someone who legally owns a small alligator. Hermione lives with The Lizard Lady and tours around to different events throughout the PNW.

Yea people like to keep em as pets, my old neighbors had 2 of em and got in a lot of trouble for it. He had a white one and a standard colored one (I also live in Oregon)

When I was a kid out west they sold dwarf caiman that grew to about 3ft & I knew a person who got one of the alligators 🐊 from next to Knott’s Berry Farm before there was tweakers.
