🔥 Let's fix these 4 HEADACHE MUSCLES! If you have headaches here, your neck muscles might not be too tight OR too weak. The missing piece could be endurance—your muscles’ ability to control and support your head for long periods of time. Here’s what’s happening... ⚡ Your SCM, scalenes, deep neck flexors, and upper trapezius constantly work together as you look down, look up, rotate, and tilt your head. ⚡ If these muscles fatigue too quickly, soreness and increased muscle tension can build as the day goes on. ⚡ That ongoing muscular stress may increase sensitivity in the nervous system, lower your pain threshold, and contribute to recurring headache symptoms. So instead of ONLY stretching tight muscles or aggressively strengthening them, we want to build their ability to work longer without fatiguing. ✅ STEP 1: Build endurance Apply resistance to your head and hold for 10–45 seconds at a low-to-moderate effort. ✅ STEP 2: Train every direction Repeat the holds with resistance from different angles to train the SCM, scalenes, deep neck flexors, and upper traps as a coordinated system. ✅ STEP 3: Keep symptoms controlled Build your duration and frequency gradually. If you're sensitive to the exercise, pair it with slow nasal breathing and try tapping your leg while focusing your attention on that sensation. From there, gradually progress back toward active movement and strengthening as your tolerance improves. The goal is building a neck with enough endurance to control your head all day without constantly fatiguing and feeding the headache cycle. #Headaches #NeckPain #NeckStrength #NeckTension #PhysicalTherapy
