Have you ever not been able to get an IV. ICU nurse here and some of those people have nothing left. I assume it may be a little better when you are seeing healthy people

Genuine question: could it be dangerous if a patient has hypernatremia for example? How can you decide if that crystalloid that you're using is the correct one for the person? I'm asking because this thing doesn't exist in Europe and I think that's why. Also in Italy nurses can't prescribe IV fluids. Infusion therapy falls under medical procedures, and nurses can't do that without the presence of a medical doctor

I swear I got good at IVs with hospice. The patient population is always intravascularly depleted/dehydrated with tinyyy veins. Got to do what you got to do
