I love you and your wife’s enthusiasm. It’s awesome. I love hearing about your experiences in the United States. I was born and raised in Long Island New York and Town called Holbrook. My father is from Brooklyn my mom from the Bronx. I grew up all over in those areas. my daughter lives in Queens. I live in North Carolina now Wilmington it’s OK. It’s pretty little bit like Long Island when I come to visit I don’t really go to the city. I stay in Queens in Brooklyn and I go to the island to visit my brother. Have fun enjoy it. It’s beautiful there and upstate is absolutely breathtaking. Used to go as a kid during the summer for two months.

Get out of Times Square. One of the worst parts of the city. Walk the High Line south to Tibecca then walk over to Greenwich Village and SoHo. Check out Chinatown and Little Italy. Go to Central Park

New York is somewhere everyone should visit at least once. It helps you not take a slower life with green around you for granted. I find it fascinating and entertaining, but the fact that dogs aren't allowed on the grass and dog parks are concrete upsets me a bit. Those poor dogs!

NYC is nothing like any other. I was raised there.. 70s 80s and 90s.. was absolutely the best times. It's become a completely different place... and yeah it always smells

NY at Christmastime is fun for the experience of it, but it’s a one and done thing for me. Always heard it smells in the summertime. Give me mountains and lakes any day.

It’s definitely not yours or most people’s ideal place. But you have to visit to understand why you’d never want to live there. Now I’m sure there are nice places in the state that aren’t New York City.
