It sounds like you wanted the results more than you enjoyed any of those crafts/process’ which is why it probably didn’t result in the outcome you wanted. I think success in entertainment or most industries is inevitable if you put your reps in. I’m a working director and cinematographer with no connections in the film industry before I entered it. You say three things, X factor, Disney, big studio. You’re shooting for the top of the mountain and considering yourself a failure for not getting there. But there’s an entire independent scene and I’m not seeing a portfolio. Maybe mentally reframe your approach and find something that genuinely fuels you, it might still be something in film!

I think the common thread here is that you were focused on success coming quickly. Success, while an understandable goal, is not helpful as a goal in our business. You should instead be motived to DO GOOD WORK, keep at your discipline, take classes, educate yourself, practice for years, etc. Stop chasing fame and success- start chasing good work you’re passionate about.

Its called being in your 20s! You dream big with the hopes of landing, if you dont: your 30s is time to reinvent. Trust me, most ppl fail and reinvent❤️be kind to yourself, youre just human! Not insane! Lot of ppl dont bet on their dreams, most dont even have dreams.

Girl you seem so young, I’m not sure why you’re acting like you’ve already failed when it seems like you only tried once or twice to achieve these things and when they didn’t happen immediately you took that as a sign that you weren’t meant for that. If you are actually committed to achieving any of these goals, you still could. You need to just actually commit, enjoy the process and be okay with failing a few times. Nothing in life will be achieved overnight.

So going to be honest: these things take time. You can’t go on a singing show and expect fame. That’s not how that works. You have to put in the time and work for it like anything else. This arguably sounds like you quit as soon as it didn’t immediately happen. For example, over the past 4 years, I’ve written music that has been used by countless tv shows and heard by hundreds of millions. I am a good 10 years away from being able to make enough doing that to fully support myself but my first sync placement took a year and it was a very small reality tv show. You have to fully commit, you can’t just stop at the first sign of discomfort

You are either connected through family or some wealthy social circle that you grew up with in LA if you want to make a living at this. If you are from the Midwest or somewhere else you have to be top .01% in terms of look or talent to even get a shot. Growing up in Oklahoma you may be the prettiest and most talented person in your small city but there are literally 50,000 of you.
