Honestly, the narrative framing here is quite frustrating. Reirin’s composure in this scene isn't some inherent, born virtue or raw courage it's the direct result of a life spent in privilege, backed by elite court training, unwavering support, and absolute security. It’s easy to transform 'mud' into a masterpiece when you’ve never actually drowned in it. Keigetsu didn't grow up with those resources; her fear and insecurity are the logical products of systemic neglect, emotional abuse, and constant isolation. If Keigetsu had been raised with the exact same opportunities and unconditional support as Reirin, she would have pulled off an even greater show without shrinking back. Romanticizing Reirin’s privilege as 'superior character' while treating Keigetsu like a student who just needs to 'learn how to bloom' completely ignores the reality of trauma and class disparity. You can’t lecture someone on how to shine when you’ve never had to survive in the dark.
