In InterLink's case, the program uses a Reverse Auction mechanism. An ITL holder can essentially say: “I want to sell this amount of ITL at this price per ITL.” InterLink then collects the different offers and determines which ones are competitive based on the available budget. So, what is the purpose of this buyback? The ITL purchased during Phase 1 will be used to support community rewards and special activities for the celebration of the first 10 million Linkers. And according to the announcement, any remaining ITL that is not used for the celebration program will be permanently burned. So this buyback is not simply about buying and selling tokens.
