I was lucky enough to play this with an orchestra when I was 16. It is an incredible piece. I stuffed up in the opening bars and the conductor said to me, “You’re not going to do that opening night, are you?” 😂😅 She definitely locked tf in. But oh that long intro from the orchestra…a blessing and a curse!

What a conductor as well! He took that in stride and gave her the confidence to showcase the skills she has! Sometimes stress can get in the way of performance and he showed that he believed in her! Wow

Musicians practice so much that by the time you perform a piece it is memorized. I don’t use sheet music for anything once I’ve mastered it. It’s just in your brain and in your hands. She hadn’t practiced it, but she will never forget it. It just becomes embedded.
