eating and driving is still distraction driving. Maybe less consequences, but...

It’s technically illegally to eat, drink, or do anything that takes both hands off the steering wheel. Eating a sandwich is technically distracted driving

Saskatchewan law does not explicitly require you to keep both hands on the wheel at all times.
However, taking a hand off the wheel to perform tasks like holding a phone, eating, or grooming falls under Saskatchewan's strict distracted driving laws or driving without due care and attention, which can result in heavy fines. SGI recommends keeping both hands on the wheel at the 9-and-3 or 8-and-4 positions for proper vehicle control, but it is a RECOMMENDATION only.

If the cop says it wasn't a sandwich but was a phone then I hope when they go to court he has pictures or video of him being on his phone. If not then pound rocks

But yet some people and the Justice System will say that they will trust police officer as witnesses cause they are very trained, that they have eagle eyes and can see everything as is.

It's nice to see that he was polite and didn't argue with the officer. These people that get all high and mighty when they get stopped by the police and end up getting arrested because they just didn't cooperate is ridiculous. Good on him!

This is exactly why even if you are 10000% innocent and want to be helpful to the cops, you should not talk to them except to say “here is my ID and insurance/registration, and I will not answer questions without having my lawyer present”. Then you comply in actions but do not unlock your phone or speak further other than to reiterate that phrase. Because cops will lie. Not cops CAN lie. Cops WILL ALWAYS lie. They were trained to do so and don’t know how to turn it off. Even the cops in your personal lives will lie. Because they don’t know how to turn it off. 😐
