Here are three steps to making a confident career decision. One of the things I learned the hard way, is there’s no career decision that guarantees happiness. There are only career decisions you decide to be happy about. Which is kind of fun and freeing, knowing your happiness isn’t riding on one single decision. So when you believe you can be happy no matter what, THEN your free to make your career decisions more pragmatic. So here is a pragmatic three-step approach to making confident career decisions. 1: DEFINE WHAT “THE RIGHT” DECISION LOOK LIKE Defining the “right decision” means establishing a set of strategic criteria to help you create the life you want. When I decided to be an executive coach my criteria was to leverage my experience, be able to work from anywhere and not have an earning cap on my income. And being an executive coach fit those criteria for me. 2: DON’T GET CAUGHT UP IN “THE HOW” Sometimes we don’t choose a career path because we’re not sure HOW we’re going to do it. Don’t worry about any of that yet. Just make the career decision and start with what you know now… and each step you take will inform the next one. 3: STAY COMMITTED WHEN THINGS GO SIDEWAYS For sure things will go sideways. For sure it will be harder than you think it is, and things will go wrong that you never thought of. So what? Just keep showing up and learning as you go. And when you’re ready to make leading your career easier, book time and let’s chat. #l#leadershiptokc#corporatetokl#leadershipb#bealeaderl#leadershipskillse#executivecoachc#corporatelifes#successincorporateworklife
