@fetchinggoodies: Cookie Bars Ep 2: Chocolate Salted Pretzel S’mores! Welcome back to Crowd-Pleasing Cookie Bars, the series where I show you how to make bakery-worthy desserts quickly and simply, all in one pan. Today we’re bringing together two absolutely iconic classics, gooey s’mores and salty-sweet chocolate covered pretzels, to create a cookie bar that’s the best of these incredibly delicious worlds. A rich chocolate cookie base is bursting with mini marshmallows, pretzels, graham crackers, and chocolate chips, and topped with even more of the good stuff to give you gooey, salty, sweet, crunchy, and nostalgic all in one bite. They come together in 30 minutes and bake for about 28, which means you’ll have these hot and ready irresistible indulgent cookie bars done in under an hour (and your kitchen will smell divine)! You can dig into them warm (they’re unreal melty), or if you want to slice into bars, my process goes like this: Bake, cool, cover (the pans I use come with lids, so handy). When ready to slice: pop the pan in the fridge or freezer for about an hour (still covered). Then take them out, use the parchment paper overhang to lift them onto a cutting board, and slice with a sharp knife. The fridge/freezer step helps to get extra clean cuts. Here I used a 13x18 inch high-sided sheet pan, lined with parchment paper, to create 24 bars. Before baking, I pressed a whole pretzel into the top of each one, spacing them as 4 down and 6 across, so they’re roughly centered on each bar when sliced. S’mores and Chocolate Salted Pretzel were two of the cookie bar flavors on one of my first bakery menus. A couple years in, as I was developing new ones, I thought…what if we combine them?! And they’ve been such a favorite (of mine, of clients, friends, and family) ever since! There’s only one way to find out if they’re a new favorite of yours, too… 🥨 Find the full recipe on fetchinggoodies.com titled Chocolate Salted Pretzel S’mores Cookie Bars or linked in my bio! Bake these beauties at home for your next party or gathering. Bring them to a friend or neighbor. Share them at work (if you like your colleagues). Or just pop them in the freezer to have on-hand anytime you want one!!
