mind you, hunter schafer, a trans woman, wrote an beautiful tv episode where it touched on a trans character's struggle with the fact that she feels like the being desired by men can be very validating for trans women, and how problematic that is; because it means that some trans women sometimes feel that their expression of femininity is built around catering to the male gaze. that experience isn't exlusive to cis women

Cis womanhood and trans womanhood are different but THATS OKAY. Why do we need to discredit ciswomen to uphold trans women? It’s ok to have different experiences, that’s part of the beauty.. BUT you cannot say that trans women understand cis womanhood better than cis women. It’s not the same and THATS OKAY. It doesn’t make trans women less woman, just a different experience.

I’m also confused cause not all trans women are super girly pop. I felt like their comment kinda implied that trans women seek out gender stereotypes associated with women. Being a woman is not linear every woman has a different experience. Intersectionality was coined for a reason
