When we first moved into our apt, I told my husband I want to be able to lock our room door. One by the bed, and the other by the closet. He obliged and changed the door knobs so I could lock it when necessary. He worked graveyard shifts, and his brother stayed in the living room for a while. One night I was woken up by the sound of the door knob jiggling. I was frightened, and I could hear weeping on the other side. Idk if he was fighting with his temptation, or what was going on. Thankfully it got quiet and I went back to sleep. Next day I went home for lunch. My husband wakes up to eat with me and I told him. I was hesitant, but he needed to know. He talked to his brother before I got home in evening, about moving out by the end of the month never mentioning why. He told him we're new into our marriage and we're working on building our relationship. I thanked him for believing me, and he said you're never hesitant with your words. This time you were and I knew you were telling me something that scared you. ❤️That action made me put him before my family. I knew he was putting us before his and he deserved it in return. 😭

Divorce is the right thing. She should’ve divorced him the moment he didn’t believe her. She needs to not engage with anyone on that side of the family, including him and only go through the attorney. She should never be alone with him.

I could walk up to any of my friends right now and ask to use their phones and they would let me. The brother had an agenda, which I’m sure isn’t what he shared in order to gain access to the phone. The unexpected victim blaming at the was a real frisbee to the head.

It’s pretty easy to get on someone else’s phone for one reason or another and he could always take pictures of the pictures. I do find it strange that you didn’t believe her story because of this one aspect. And obviously because of the differences in opinion on telling your spouse, that’s why she hesitated and waited a while to tell him until the harassment had continued. I think there’s a history between the brothers of competitiveness with women.

She needs to document everything including an account of the assault and what pictures were taken and dates. She needs to keep interactions in writing and hand everything over to her attorney. If he’s publicly going after her, she needs to send him a cease and desist and then potentially file for a restraining order. Don’t let your grief over the end of the marriage keep you from protecting yourself

I would argue in my opinion it is easier to disengage from your family damn disengage for somebody that you genuinely care about and love however, this is very solid advice. I highly recommend.

to be fair, I leave my phone aying around unlocked all the time. if I had anything risque, it would be very easy for someone I trust to send it to themselves. and given hubby's reaction I 100% understand why she just tried to let it slide to begin with
