@morgane_kizz_official: HUT 8 Corp, a North American investment corporation, says it has received reports that scammers are falsely claiming to represent it in Uganda. The corporation has categorically stated that it has no operations or investment partners in Uganda. As of today, hundreds of thousands of Ugandans have reportedly lost millions of shillings to these scammers. They claim that you can invest in renting out AI machines and earn overwhelming returns after just a few days. For instance, if you invested about UGX 100,000 in a selected machine, such as a generator or water pump, you could supposedly make profits of over UGX 800,000 within 14 or 30 days, depending on the terms. All purchases are made in Ugandan shillings. What shocks most people is that the money is sent via mobile money to individual accounts, rather than through a merchant code, as is common with legitimate businesses. Merchant codes are generally provided through mobile-money services such as MTN or Airtel to businesses and organisations that meet their requirements, although having a merchant code alone does not prove that a business is legitimate
