@drheejink: My favorite combination for acne, PIE (post-inflammatory erythema), and PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation): -A retinoid: RX tretinoin or tazarotene! One of the most effective ingredients for acne. It helps unclog pores, speeds up cell turnover, stimulates collagen, and gradually improves post-acne discoloration and texture. -Azelaic acid: Helps calm inflammation, treat acne, and fade both red and brown post-acne marks while being gentle enough for many sensitive skin types. Not super effective once the acne enters moderate to severe stage. Also, make sure it’s not too drying or irritating to your skin! -A ceramide-based moisturizer: Treatment is great but not at the cost of your skin barrier! Ceramides help strengthen the skin barrier, reduce irritation from acne treatments, and make it easier to stay consistent with your routine. Remember: acne marks take time to fade, so consistency is key—and don't forget daily sunscreen, since UV exposure can make post-acne pigmentation last even longer. ☀️ #AcneTips #Dermatologist #AzelaicAcid #Retinoid #Ceramides

lina 🍷 :
i’m using both azelaic acid and tretinoin and have been too scared to introduce a gentle chemical exfoliant to my routine without messing up my skin… i have type 2 rosacea and oily/combo skin so i’m super scared to ruin my barrier or break out from my moisturizer. my vanicream cleanser is amazing but is there another moisturizer and chemical exfoliant you’d recommend for someone with my skin?
