@airportpatricia: I have watched hundreds of people cry at my podium over an expired license and almost every one of them could still have flown that day. Twenty years at this checkpoint and this is the one that still gets to me. An expired driver's license is generally still accepted for a stretch of time past the date printed on it, so hand it over before you assume anything. And if you have genuinely got nothing, wallet stolen, passport left at the hotel, there is still an identity verification process. Your name, your current address, a few questions from public record that only you could answer, then additional screening, then you fly. It takes longer and it isn't guaranteed, so get there early and be polite about it. But don't turn around in the parking lot and go home. #viral #travel #airline #flights #airport
