My husky went into heat, then a few days later started losing her balance and could barely move. I suspected pyo, but the emergency vet insisted it was GI issues and sent her home with meds. A week and $600 later, I drove 2 hours to another vet. Her uterus had ruptured and she was septic. They recommended euthanasia because her odds were so low, but she was only 8 and I chose surgery. She pulled through and within weeks was completely herself again. I know how incredibly lucky I am.
