@denieuwekerk: In De Nieuwe Kerk, we have another organ alongside the main organ: the transept organ. Organist Henk Verhoef takes you on a behind-the-scenes tour. As Henk explains, the organ is well preserved, apart from the pipes. The windchests, the action and the keyboard were built in 1645 by Germer van Hagerbeer. He used parts from an older organ, presumably from the sixteenth century. Of course, the sound of the organ doesn’t come across fully in a video like this. To really appreciate it, you need to experience it live during one of our monthly organ concerts. The next organ concert is on Tuesday 25 August.
