I recently have been learning about queer platonic relationships and that has kind of opened my mind about alternatives to the social norms of romantic relationships and toxic hookup culture like you mentioned , and aro people deserve love and companionship too even if it’s not in the traditional romantic way

I’ve had to explain it to some people before that I am not and never will be a “one and done” kind of girl. I may not have the capacity to feel romantic love, but every one of my sexual endeavors has ended in a very strong friendship, and I prefer to go about it this way. I do love these people very deeply, just not in the same way an alloromantic would. I enjoy spending intimate time with these people. I don’t just “use people for their bodies”— I actually really enjoy companionship. I think that’s something that many alloromantics tend to get wrong about us

have you ever spoken about a concept i'm tentatively calling "romantic harassment"? i've had many experiences where someone (usually a cis woman) has clearly developed feelings for me, and refused to admit it verbally (not giving me a chance to let them down kindly) while also coercing me into various physical contact/emotional situations i didn't consent to (e.g. leaning their head on my shoulder, long hugs, cheek kisses, etc). i suspect this is more common for aro people, but i've never seen anyone but myself talk about it!
