If a company in California does not pay you, file a wage claim with the California Labor Commissioner's Office (Division of Labor Standards Enforcement). You can file online, by mail, or in person at no cost, and you do not need a lawyer to do it.

That day, my scheduled work hours were from 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM, for a total of 7 hours. At a rate of $17 per hour, the total would be $119. There was a 30-minute break during the shift, and I ultimately received $110. There were also two other employees who worked from 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM that day. They had never met the management before and had no family or friendship relationship with the management. After they stated their working hours, they were each paid $119, for a total of $238. Since all three of us started work at 5:00 PM that day, I was confused about how my pay was calculated. This is simply a record of the working hours and the amount actually received that day, for reference.
