@bluetsunami2026: Two Strangers (Carrying A Cake Across New York) is everything you would think a musical with this title would be: charming, infectious, delightful, infectiously supah-sweet and refreshing. The first time I saw this last November I thought it was a nicely wrapped gifted rom-com right before the holidays..one and done. I came across the soundtrack and started listening to it and it got me excited to see it again and I’m sure glad I did. This time around I have to say the upgrade went from me belting out a Hey-yo ..to a Sookie Sookie now!! The flex of scoring 8 Tony noms including best Musical and 2 leading role noms must have put a little more swag in their game because they absolutely were on fiyah and the audience ate it up. And they are Christiani Pitts as Robin and Sam Tutty as Dougal, a tight intimate ubah talented 5 musician orchestra, and not to mention the twinkling contemporary score by Jim Barne and Kit Buchan. The duo have crazy chemistry and as a New Yawker I love the thread of Dougal’s continuing misconceptions of the city, I got such a kick out that. For anyone who’s not familiar, this is a copy and paste from one of the sites of the plot: Dougal, an optimistic British tourist, and Robin, a cynical Brooklynite, who meet when he arrives for his estranged father's wedding. Laughter and chaos ensue (I added that part). “If I Believed” and “New York/What It’ll Be – Reprise” is the turning point where both Robin and Dougal drop their defensive walls and accept the profound impact they have had on each other's lives, and the latter acts as an emotional full-circle moment blending themes of uncertainty, future possibilities, and quiet connection as they part ways. It emphasizes the show's core point that the people we least expect are often the ones who change us the most. It’s a beautiful show and it has a closing date set for Nov 22, 2026 so my suggestion is to go and see it, you won’t be disappointed. Thanks for this video. This show was so good and this scene is the epitome of what broadway is: vocals, storytelling. The writers did so well and the actors killed the execution. You can hear it in your gasps, and other reactions… we all had those visceral reactions. It was so emotional and so powerful. Loved this show so much! 💕💕
