@nbcphiladelphia: An investigation is underway after, police said, a teen boy was shot while riding a scooter in North Philly early Thursday. According to police, the incident happened at about 12:47 a.m. near the intersection of Judson and Diamond streets in North Philadelphia. At that time, officers responded to that intersection after hearing gunshots to find a 17-year-old boy who had been shot in the chest, shoulder and buttocks. The boy, police said, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was listed in critical condition after being taken into surgery. Police believe the victim was riding a scooter at the time when he was attacked by gunmen -- officials did not immediately say how many suspects may have been involved -- who then got into a Mercedes and sped off following the shooting. Officials also did not immediately provide more information about the getaway vehicle used in this crime. At the scene, investigators recovered six spent shell casings, officials told NBC10. Police did not immediately provide additional information on the suspected shooters, nor did they provide any motive for this incident. But, an investigation into the crime remains ongoing.
