Pam then pulled out a knife that he legally owned and stabbed Cuozzo repeatedly, killing him. After reviewing the evidence, prosecutors decided not to pursue charges, concluding that Pam killed Cuozzo in self-defense. This result brought tense reactions and protests from Cuozzo’s family, who believe Pam should be charged with murder because Cuozzo no longer had the gun in his hand when he was fatally stabbed. On August 11, a grand jury reviewed the evidence and declined to bring charges, concluding the stabbing was self-defense. Cuozzo’s mother, Latasha Blowers, announced she will seek an alternate route to get "justice."
