Stop listening to these people and take them BACK. The red lacquer is literally painted on and it does not peel off—it’s meant to gradually fade over time. I have more than multiple pairs in multiple styles and this is abnormal.

Someone went and bought a real pair and then returned a fake pair in the real pair box and then you bought them is what I bet happened because mine don’t do that mine are older and they just show like the leather underneath in the spots where the reds worn away

You do know that stores like Newman Marcus sell a lot of fakes because people will purchase the real one swap them with “clones” then return them and keep the real ones. Always purchase from the designer
