I used to live in Genoa. That town is evil. The story my family was told when we moved there was that the town changed so much they lost the location of the cemetery and had no idea where it was. My mom didn't buy that story and tried to do some digging but she was told that the cemetery was never, ever going to be found and to stop asking questions about it. So they know exactly what happened to it, they just don't want it getting out that it was purposely destroyed to make room for the canal.

My grandma was sent to Stewart Indian School in Nevada, she was from the Northern California coast. She wouldn’t talk about her time at school other than to tell us she would cuss the sisters out in Yurok
