Cop handled the interaction with the auditor perfectly and then completely fumbled the ball by his interaction with the complainant. He should have said, ma’am there is absolutely nothing illegal or wrong with what that man is doing. It’s his right to film in public. Anything he can see. Instead, the cop perpetuated the problem by implying “it’s unfortunate but… this is what he is doing”. Educate the citizen and move on. “It’s what they do” goddamn man. You started off perfectly and ended up being part of the problem.
