@emilyentwistle_x: I have so much to be grateful for and try so hard to be happy but everything reminds me of losing my mum. I’m overwhelmed all the time and my grief has taken so much of me, my heart is broken💔 #grievingdaughter #griefjourney #parentloss #HealingJourney #fyp

I lost my beautiful mum suddenly last year and I carry such a heavy heart, she was my whole world. My amazing wee dad was physically fit his whole life, never even took a painkiller if he had a headache, lead such a healthy lifestyle, diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in March given 3-6 months passed last week, his funeral is next week. My whole world gone in 14 months. From a life of 2 of the best most supportive parents to nothing. Life really is soo unfair, why my mum and dad 😞

Grief is like glitter. In the beginning, it's everywhere.. on your hands, in your hair, scattered across every corner of your life. You try to clean it up, to restore some sense of order. And for a while, it seems like you've succeeded. But then, one day, you move a sofa or open a forgotten drawer, and there it is again. A tiny sparkle that catches the light and reminds you of what you lost. It doesn't go away completely. It settles, becomes quieter, less overwhelming. You learn to live with it, to carry it gently. And months later, when you find a bit of that glitter tucked behind a shelf, you might smile. Maybe even laugh. Because it reminds you of love, of connection, of someone who so mattered deeply to you. Eventually, something will catch your eye.. a photo, a favorite song, a familiar scent, and instead of pain, you'll feel warmth. That's the quiet truth about grief. It stays with you, but it changes. It becomes a part of your story & the story of you & person you lost, a soft echo of the love that never really left.

Hi Emily you don’t know me but I’m going to give you some advice I live by. ‘Someone only dies when you forget them’. You’ll never forget your mom so she’ll never really die. Keep talking about her and make her proud every day. You’ve got this. 🤍

Time helps a little bit. I also lost my mum recently and I now have two lives, one before she died, and one after she died. I'm trying to remember everything she taught me, and I know she wouldn't want me to be sad, she'd want me to get on with life. Thing is, I'm like you, I can't 🤷

Oh Emily I’m not going to lie to you my dear mummy passed away 14 years ago and the agony of her loss is just as hard as it was the day she passed . All I can say is not even to go day by day but just work towards your next task and cry if you need too and talk to her and if you sit quietly and listen you will hear her answer . I know it’s not the same it’s hell and agony and I hate living with out my mummy and my best friend but you will slowly slowly get there xxx

Acceptance that you will never live a “normal and happy” life again. Your normal is gone. You have to create a new normal. And you will be happy again, but you will also always be sad at any given moment. Stop focusing on being ok. Focus on putting one foot in front of the other and resting when you’re tired. One day you’ll realize that there were a lot of happy days mixed in with the sad ones and that is your normal. 🤍

Don't be so hard on yourself, take life a day at a time. Your mind & body need time to process the information. The first anniversay of everything is the hardest, a permanent heavy heart. You learn to put a brave face on for everyone, whilst inside you are screaming for help. I feel your pain. This is the start of a new journey, your Mum's love will guide you🙏💞 xx

I lost my mum 8 weeks ago and my dad 10 months ago, I'm not the person I once was, I'm completely broken, nothing in life prepares you for this pain, I guess one day I will learn to live with, and hope you do too x
