@abcdefaaako: Oom had always been patient with Bam. Everyone who knew them knew it. Bam was easily annoyed. A slow driver could ruin her mood. A late coffee could irritate her. A small mistake could make her sigh, roll her eyes, and retreat into silence. And Oom? Oom understood. She always understood. When Bam was angry, Oom gave her space. When Bam was tired, Oom took care of the little things. When Bam complained, Oom listened. When Bam said something harsh in the middle of her frustration, Oom usually let it pass. Because Oom knew Bam. She knew that beneath the sharp words was someone who got overwhelmed easily. Someone who didn't always know how to handle her emotions. So Oom became patient. She became gentle. She became the person who could calm Bam down without asking for anything in return. And somewhere along the way, Bam got used to it. Too used to it. She got used to Oom understanding her. Used to Oom forgiving her. Used to Oom coming back first. Used to being treated like a princess. She forgot that Oom felt things deeply too. She had simply gotten very good at hiding it from Bam. And that was the problem. ⸻ It started with little things. "Where's my charger?" "On the table." "I left it beside the bed." "You brought it with you earlier." Bam frowned. "Why didn't you tell me?" Oom looked at her. "You didn't ask." Bam sighed. "Whatever." Oom smiled. "Did you eat?" "No." "I can heat up—" "I'm not hungry." "Okay." Oom didn't argue. She never did. Bam walked away. And Oom watched her go. She smiled. Because that was what she always did. ⸻ There were days when Bam was worse. Days when she came home exhausted and irritated by everything. Oom would ask one innocent question. And Bam would snap. "Can you stop asking me so many questions?" Oom would immediately quiet down. "Okay." Sometimes Bam apologized. Sometimes she didn't. And Oom never forced her to. Because she knew Bam would eventually come around. At least, that's what she told herself. ⸻ One evening, Bam came home already angry. She threw her bag onto the couch. Oom looked up. "Bad day?" Bam didn't answer. Oom waited. After a moment, she stood. "I made dinner." "I'm not hungry." "You haven't eaten since—" "I said I'm not hungry." Oom stopped. "Okay." Bam walked toward the kitchen. She saw something on the counter. "What's this?" "Your favorite." "I told you I didn't want this." "I know." "Then why did you make it?" "Because I thought you might change your mind." Bam sighed. "That's exactly what I'm talking about." Oom looked at her. "What?" "You always do things I don't ask you to." "I was just trying to—" "Help. I know." Bam shook her head. "But sometimes you don't know when to stop." Oom went quiet. Bam grabbed her phone. "Forget it." She walked toward the door. Oom watched her. "Bam." Bam stopped. "What?" "Do you want me to wait for you?" "No." "Okay." Bam opened the door. "Goodnight." She walked out. Oom remained where she was. The moment the door closed, her expression fell. Her eyes filled almost immediately. She turned away from the door and quietly wiped her face. Then another tear slipped down. Oom pressed her lips together. She didn't want to cry. Not over this. Not again. She took a breath. "It's okay." She whispered to herself. "It's okay." Continuation…➡️ #oombam #au

1️⃣ A few minutes later, the door suddenly opened. Oom quickly wiped her face and turned around. Bam walked back inside. Her irritation hadn't disappeared. She looked at Oom. "You're doing it again." Oom frowned slightly. "Doing what?" "Going quiet." Bam shut the door behind her. "Every time we argue, you just stand there and say nothing." Oom looked away. "What do you want me to say?" "I don't know. Something." "I didn't want to make things worse." "You always do this, Oom." Bam's voice grew sharper. "You make me feel like I'm the worst person in the world just by standing there like that." Oom's fingers tightened at her sides. She still didn't turn around. And Bam, still blinded by her anger, didn't notice the tears slowly falling down Oom's face again. "Say something." Oom took a shaky breath. "I don't want to fight with you." "But you're making me feel guilty." "I'm not trying to." "You don't have to try." Bam shook her head. "I can't even be angry anymore without you doing this." Oom finally turned around. Tears were running down her face. Her eyes were red. Her lips trembled. Bam stared at her. But instead of softening, her frustration took over again. "And now you're crying?" Oom said nothing. Bam let out a breath. "So I'm in the wrong now?" "I didn't say that." "You don't have to." Bam's voice was sharp. "You cry, you go quiet, you don't say anything. What am I supposed to think?" "I didn't want to fight with you." "But you always make me feel guilty." "I don't." "You do." Oom looked down. Bam took a breath, still angry. "I can't even be angry without you crying." Oom stood quietly for a moment. Then she looked back at Bam. "Sometimes I wonder if you really love me." Bam immediately frowned. "Of course I do. What are you saying?" Oom looked at her through tear-filled eyes. "Then why do you make me feel like you don't?" Bam opened her mouth, but Oom continued before she could answer. "I know you love me. I know that." She wiped her cheek. "But sometimes I don't feel loved by you." Bam swallowed hard. The anger in her expression had begun to fade. Oom took a shaky breath.

4️⃣ Oom looked at her. "I have to treat you like someone I love." Oom's lips trembled into a small smile. Bam wiped away her tears. "And next time you're angry?" Oom gave a weak laugh. "What?" "You're allowed to be angry with me." Oom laughed through her tears. "I don't want to yell at you." "Fine." Bam smiled. "Then you're allowed to be mad." Oom nodded. "You're allowed to tell me when I hurt you." Another nod. "And you're allowed to stop saying 'it's okay' when it isn't." Oom looked at her for a moment. Then she smiled. "Okay." Bam raised an eyebrow. "Oom." Oom laughed. "Sorry." Bam smiled and pulled her closer. For years, Oom had been the person who made sure Bam never had to carry her emotions alone. Now Bam finally understood. She didn't want Oom to be endlessly patient. She didn't want Oom to silently forgive everything. She didn't want a princess who never complained. She wanted Oom. The real Oom. The one who could laugh too loudly, get annoyed, become stubborn, cry when she was hurt, and ask to be held when she needed it. Because Oom had never been emotionless. She had simply been hiding her hurt so well that Bam had forgotten to look for it. And maybe loving someone meant more than understanding their bad days. Maybe it also meant remembering that they had bad days too.

2️⃣ "And that's different." Silence. "I know you're easily annoyed. I know you get angry. I know you have bad days. I've always known." She gave a small, sad smile. "And I've always tried to understand." "When you're angry, I give you space." "When you're tired, I take care of you." "When you're upset, I listen." "When you don't want to talk, I don't force you." Oom's voice cracked. "And when you say something hurtful, I tell myself you didn't mean it." Bam looked away. "But sometimes you do mean it." Silence. "Sometimes you say things because you know they'll hurt." Oom's eyes filled again. "And you still say them." Bam's face fell. "Sometimes you do things that you know will upset me." Oom took a shaky breath. "And I keep letting them go because I love you." She looked directly at Bam. "But loving you doesn't mean I don't feel anything." Bam couldn't answer. "I get hurt too." Her voice trembled. "I get tired too." "I get angry too." "I have bad days too." Oom wiped her cheeks. "And sometimes I don't want to be the understanding one." Bam stared at her. "Sometimes I want someone to understand me." A tear slipped down. "I want you to notice when something is wrong." "I want you to ask me if I'm okay." "I want to be cared for." Her voice broke. "I want to be loved properly." Bam remained silent. Oom took a breath. "Sometimes I just want you to remember that I'm not made of stone, Bam." She looked away. "I get hurt too." The room went quiet. "I've been trying so hard to make things easier for you that I forgot I was allowed to have feelings too." Bam swallowed. Oom continued. "I don't want to always be the one who understands." "I don't want to always be the one who says it's okay." "I don't want to keep pretending that your words don't hurt just because I know you didn't mean them." She looked at Bam again. "I want to matter to you too." That sentence settled heavily between them. Bam suddenly remembered every single time Oom had smiled. Every time Oom had said, It's okay. Every time Bam had walked away angry. Every time Oom had followed her later with food, water, medicine, or a simple hug.

3️⃣ Bam had thought Oom was simply patient. She had never stopped to wonder what it cost her. Bam's voice was quiet. "Why didn't you tell me?" Oom laughed softly through her tears. "I tried." Bam frowned. "When?" "Every time I went quiet." Bam's heart sank. "Every time I told you I was okay when I wasn't." Oom looked down. "Every time I smiled after you hurt me." A pause. "I thought you'd notice." Bam couldn't look at her. Oom wiped her face. "But you didn't." Silence. Bam finally stepped closer. "Oom..." Oom didn't move. "I'm sorry." Oom looked at her. Bam's voice was barely above a whisper. "I'm really sorry." Oom shook her head. "You don't have to—" "I do." Bam took another step. "I've been unfair to you." Oom said nothing. "I got so used to you understanding me that I forgot you needed understanding too." Her voice cracked. "I got so used to you taking care of me that I forgot to take care of you." Bam reached for Oom's hand. This time, she didn't pull away. "I thought you were okay because you always told me you were." Oom looked at their hands. "I didn't want to be another problem for you." Bam's chest tightened. "You were never a problem." "Sometimes it felt like I was." Bam shook her head. "No." She squeezed Oom's hand. "I made you feel that way." Oom looked at her. And Bam finally did something she should have done a long time ago. She pulled Oom into her arms. Oom stood stiffly at first. Then her shoulders began to shake. She cried. Really cried. And this time, Bam didn't tell her it was okay. She didn't ask her to stop. She didn't try to explain. She simply held her. "I'm sorry," Bam whispered. Oom cried harder. "I'm sorry for every time I made you feel like you had to hide your feelings from me." Bam held her tighter. "I'm sorry for every time I made you think my anger mattered more than your feelings." Oom finally wrapped her arms around Bam. And for a long moment, neither of them said anything. Then Oom whispered, "I love you." Bam closed her eyes. "I love you too." She kissed Oom's temple. "But I know now that loving you isn't enough." Oom looked at her.
