In college, I walked Powell St daily from Union Square all the way to my dad's work (the end of North Beach almost to the Wharf) to catch a free ride home. To this day, my quads thank me. 😅

Stick shift on those hills is always a blast. Toe/heal on brake and gas then pop the clutch slowly. Hope it doesn’t burn out clutch. Thank goodness learned to drive in Sonora foothills. The locals are insanely in a hurry/impatient.

I grew up in Manhattan. I moved to San Francisco in 1969 for summer vacation. The summer never ended and I’m still here. I’m 77 years old and I walk up that hill every other day. Going down is just as hard as going up and that’s why it takes me two days to do a trip.

I know this street. My Friends and I skate boards when we were 11 years old. Went to Edison elementary school. At the bottom we had a friend direct us when cars were coming at bottom, of Church Street. We only did it once In 70s. This was 22 second Street being a kid in the 70s Some streets never leave you 😎👍
