I honestly think the *only* value of electoralism at this point is for socialists to have the platform to loudly and unequivocally educate the masses and heighten the damn contradictions. As a socialist, you are never going to be able to disrupt the system enough to bring people around to your side through policy wins because the system is entirely invested in subverting your intentions at every turn - every aspect of our legal, financial, media, etc. institutional infrastructure is literally built to recuperate your ass and everything you ostensibly stand for. At the end of the day, all we have is our analysis and our integrity, and when we backtrack on ideas instead of helping folks to connect the dots, there's no other word for that but "self-sabotaging." These electeds get into office and delude themselves into thinking they can thwart a machine that's been refined over the past 250 years to chew you up and spit you out as something more palatable to the establishment.

I thought people were taking notes and shifting strategy from watching how the stories of Rama Dawaji’s tweets played out. Even the ‘but Hasan Piker said this 🫵’ beat on various election cycles. From what I was witnessing there were different ways shown to respond to these sorts of questions that don’t require you to undercut your convictions. But now we’re just going for “lol, jk I was being silly 🤪”
