What if someone can’t bend their arm back to cuff them? For instance I have frozen shoulder in my left arm but have a reach limit to my side. My shoulder doesn’t allow my arm to fully go back. Not that I plan to get arrested and handcuffed but just curious

Always been curious - if someone is cooperative - how come the person can’t be cuffed in the front? Not that I’ve ever been in cuffs, but to keep my arms behind my back would hurt my shoulders really bad (genetic tissue disorder in all my joints)

I used both working in the prisons.....handcuffed thousands of times, to include while actively fighting inmates ...in the end it really doesn't matter ..at all. It's about your control of the subject that matters. that's it.

Always carry one of each. I agree hinged are better IF the person is not resisting. Chain is much easier if they are fighting because you can get them on anyway you can even if it’s backwards. Hinged only goes one way

Chain.. 30 years on the job.. hinge are a pain in the ass when they are fighting you.. I hate hinge cuffs.
