Cranial size is correlated with intelligence correlated not direct causation because there's a lot more that goes into a cranial size is definitely one of the factors gray matter and connectivity between brain materials is other things to consider but there's many things that go into it but sizes one of the things

First of all the person who commented is completely wrong. They would never allow a study, comparing intellect or even behavioral patterns between black and white Americans. The funding for that would never be approved. No scientist would want to put their career on the line for it. The whole thing has hardly even been looked into. There was one study that came out and published in a book called the Bell curve and it stirred everyone up. It became a huge ordeal and no one has wanted to touch the subject sense.

I think you’re misunderstanding what that paper you cited actually shows. It indicates that directly increasing a population’s CURRENT income doesn’t really effect general violent crime rates, which I would agree on. But that’s not quite the same thing as “controlling for socioeconomic status”. Poverty tends to affect violence through much longer term pathways, such as education, family instability, institutional quality, neighborhood crime, etc. When you couple that with jobs leaving central cities in the 1950s, redlining, the crack epidemic, and the subsequent increase in for-profit prisons, a cycle of poverty and violence emerges that cannot be fixed with by just “injecting” more income into a population.

It 100% has to do with the out of Africa theory (assuming you believe in that) and people with smarter cognitive abilities being able to survive and adapt to the new living conditions, weather environment, and utilizing brain power over physical brawn. Also likely why people from Africa generally have more lean, muscular physiques, more fast twitch muscles etc. Still lived the very physical lifestyle that was what humans originally endured while surviving sub Saharan life.
