I have found that when I try to write them I just get discouraged and see it as a chore. I just open Word and write little scenes, dialogues and moments with the characters. It’s like maladaptive daydreaming but typed out lol

I even went to study at Author Line for a year because I love writing. A few years later, I have barely written since, because for some ahh reason I can't put my thoughts into words anymore. Just constant daydreaming. If there were something that would turn the movies in my head into words on paper/screen, that would be awesome.

ive found that i get more motivated by not having to open my laptop every time i wanna write. genuinely, just use your notes app whenever you get the urge. it doesnt have to be perfect, you could write a few scribbles down almost, notes of what it could include and then quickly type a first draft of a one shot while youre on the bus or something. obviously, you dont HAVE to write anything if you dont want to! and bare in mind, alot of fanfic writers take requests! so if you have an idea, seek out the writers in your fandom :D you could even collab with a writer and credit both of you in the authors section :)

I woke up at 1:48 am on Tuesday morning with an idea and wrote 1000 words in some kind of fugue state before falling back asleep. first fic I'll be finishing in years. probably won't write another one for years.

this is why you write all the fun scenes first then the connecting scenes afterwards😁

I'm actually thinking about doing open recommendations and write in places of people who can't for free, it'll be collaborative, your idea for my writing
