We had something similar happen to an outlet at our house, the previous owners diy'd a remodel and put a plastic outlet box with metal clips. One of the clips got loose and started to melt the plastic box in the wall. and for some reason this outlet also is on the same breaker as our furnace....fire department and electric company said we're lucky our breaker worked because our house could've blown up because of the location. It was scary! now we're finding even more issues! 😬

We had a new heat pump installed a few years ago and the guys spliced wires under the house incorrectly and we had a fire in April. It was put out quickly but we're still dealing with stuff cuz we had to stay in a hotel for 6 weeks and our entire house was packed up and taken to a place to be cleaned! Thank God y'all don't have to go thru all that! Glad you're safe!!

My house was doing same thing in basement, looked like fireworks coming out. Better safe than sorry I called 911 as well! Good the u glad all are safe
