Girl. Use coconut oil when you pump. It also has antibacterial properties to help prevent infection of cracking occurs. It’s totally safe to use.

I caused myself to go into labor doing this. You really shouldn’t be doing it.

This is what I collected at 36 weeks. It was spilling out of my boob so I just grabbed a cup and collected!

Are you using the correct flange size for your body? That should help with the pain

At 36 weeks I was told to start collecting. It shouldn’t hurt. If it hurts you have a blocked duct somewhere. Which can turn extremely painful. After pumping making sure your cleaning your nipples well, dry them and apply Nipple balm if they become dry. I just went through this with my first 2 kids. Second babe I got more help since I was hospitalized so no pain. You should never have pain when pumping if so you are pumping to high.

It might be hurting on the one side if the flange is too big or small for that nipple, try measuring both sides and see if you need a different size flange!!

With colostrum collecting you don’t need to do fast pumping! The slow pulls will be more similar to hand expressing, since you won’t get a “let down” typically at this point

That’s super cool, but definitely hand expression is better. You do know that the composition of your colostrum changes after you deliver the placenta.

I’m so upset cause everyone told me to be careful cause you can induce labour with collecting but no one told me when to start so I just didn’t collect much.

Why do you store them in 1ml amounts or is that what it's supposed to be?

Is that an extra piece you purchased for that pump? I have this hand pump but it didn’t come with that piece 😭 I’ve been trying to get my colostrum out of the bottle with the syringe lol
