@k9policecam: A SEATBELT STOP TURNED INTO A $385,000 DRUG BUST 😳 What started as a simple traffic stop in Cranston, Rhode Island quickly turned into something much bigger. Police say an officer pulled over 21-year-old Teddy Lopez after noticing he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. Lopez told the officer the car was his cousin’s rental and that he was on his way to get an oil change. When the officer asked if there was anything illegal inside the car, Lopez admitted there was some marijuana, maybe around two ounces. Then officers searched the car. They found three phones and cash in the center console, along with a bag containing marijuana edibles in the back seat. But then the officer noticed something unusual behind a cup holder. It was a hidden electronic compartment. And when it opened, the entire traffic stop changed. Police say they discovered 11 kilograms of cocaine, along with fentanyl powder and pills, additional marijuana, and about $1,700 in cash. Authorities estimated the total value at roughly $385,000. Lopez told officers he didn’t know anything about the cocaine. He was arrested shortly afterward. Police charged him with possession of more than one kilogram of cocaine with intent to deliver, two counts involving Schedule II narcotics, and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. At the time of the initial reporting, no plea had been entered. Police said the investigation was still ongoing because they believed other people may have been involved.
