The only thing I didn’t like is that to get out from downtown no one wanted to take the ride and I had to continue adding money to the fare bc otherwise no driver would pick us up

bolt took too long to find drivers for me (was there in June) and then when I canceled and tried uber it found a driver instantly. it'd be interesting how much of the fare goes to the driver for each app.

Bolt also advertises a really good discount code if you're a new customer. In the arrivals area in the Porto airport, they have huge signs offering 70% off your first ride and smaller discounts on subsequent rides. The discount code is either HELLOPORTO or VISITPORTO. I suspect there's a similar code for Lisbon. Just be sure to apply the code in the app BEFORE you start booking a ride.

I personally think the public transport in Lisbon is better as it’s cheaper and better for the environment but I can totally see why people prefer uber and bolt

I had an uber driver accept my ride then just not come to me when I was trying to get to the train station. Also had about 30 drivers reject a trip to Sintra. It’s only reliable if it’s convenient for the driver
