CBS.com had an article about 5 years ago, talking about the top 20 “US Murder Capitals” (the cities with the highest murder rates) All 20 had Democratic administrations. I did a little digging and found that, (with one exception for four years) all of them had had continuous Democratic leadership for 50 years, on average. One had had 120 years straight of Democratic leadership. Does this mean the Democrats are causing murder? No, of course not. It does suggest that those cities need to change some priorities to improve the city conditions that lead to those kind of numbers.

I beg to differ..TN has a state surplus and no income tax...lower standards of living. compared to many states., like CA and NY , that are driving citizens here by the thousands to get our of there and their financial mismanagement

I live in AL and highest rates come out of Birmingham, Bessemer and Montgomery! All democrat run while AL is a republican state. Doesn’t mean crime is politically based, it’s not but those are the largest concentrations of poverty and poor education. Interesting enough, areas bordering those cities have drastically different numbers and quality of living.

Memphis has really turned around. In 2024, they elected a new mayor and even tho he is Democrat, he partnered with the Rep. Gov and the Feds to saturate the city with law enforcement.
