Over 45% of Romania’s population still lives in the countryside, a stark contrast to the urbanization of much of Europe. This rural tradition is one of the last in Europe where people raise livestock, tend their gardens, and keep chickens, just like their grandparents did. It’s a land where the past is very much alive, from the wooden fences to the painted wells. There’s a deep sense of connection here—between people, animals, and the earth.
