I don’t think that the sisters created their own prophecy but I do believe that them going back in time is what garnered the magical communities “faith” or reverence for The Charmed Ones. Look at Wyatt, he’s a prophecy child but there was only a small faction of magical beings who knew he was coming and he wasn’t as revered as the charmed ones.

Maybe it's the timelines Maybe they created a new future for themselves essentially a new but similar timeline Their line wasnt under attack when it first originally happened and then when they had to go back to melindas birth they created a completely new timeline that they are now apart of and maybe even their magic and the book changed as more maybe was set in motion for them by melinda and the coven I also think since Melinda was grown when she was burned she probably had her powers grow and could see more and maybe you know her being the original po3 set plus the coven plus her power and age she probably seen it more than essentially Phoebe would
